Charity Auction

It was a race against time trying to get 2 cakes done for the charity auction but I managed to get everything finished...well almost. The cake I was most excited about doing (Queen Bee cake) did not get the "special" touch I had wanted to do...but it still turned out so pretty with the last minute change of colors. You can see for yourself the difference between the sketches and the finished cakes. I'm my own worst critic but having done these cakes and noting what worked and what didn't work helped me make notes on what to do next time...there is ALWAYS room for improvement and learning!

Charity Event

How cool is this...being able to help with a charity event with my cakes?! This month I was asked to participate in a charity event by creating deserts that will be auctioned off for charity. I am extremely excited to be helping out with this event that helps raise money for Truly Motivated Transitional Living! They are a network of clean and sober living homes in Yelm, Washington(my current home town) and are a non-profit organization offering affordable fee-based clean and sober housing to men and women in various stages of recovery. My goal for this event is to prepare 2 cakes based on the dinner/charities themed "paris" event. A 2 tier silhouette cake with kissing couple over an Eiffel T
